Sustainable Agriculture Internship
Application - There are four, 12-week internships available throughout the growing season (flexible start/end dates). Applications will be taken at any time.
Get practical farming experience at the Stratford Ecological Center, a diversified farming system growing and marketing fruits, vegetables and field crops. The Stratford Ecological Center also raises dairy and beef cows, goats, sheep, hogs and chickens.
Explore rural life and agriculture in Ohio through periodic farm tours and personal farm visits to learn from farmers how they sustain themselves, their families and the land.
Participate in casual and formal discussion groups on a wide range of topics addressing current trends in agriculture, our food and farming systems and the potential for promoting greater sustainability.
Be involved in the establishment and data collection of on-farm research trials in sustainable agriculture.
Develop an understanding of what it takes to become a participant in your own food system, and develop a deeper appreciation of the land and how it sustains us.
Participate in on-going environmental and agricultural education programs offered by the Stratford Ecological Center and other organizations around central Ohio, including programs for youth, young adults, farmer organizations and other local groups.
Interns will receive a modest stipend.
We invite you to call or visit to experience the magic of Stratford first-hand. We are open Monday - Friday, 9:00am - 5:00pm and Saturday, 9:00am - 1:00pm.
