A Legacy Legend

In Memory of Jan F. Richards

On May 8, 2011 (Mother's Day), the family of Jan F. Richards gathered in the Stratford Woods State Nature Preserve to celebrate Jan's life and dedicate a granite bench in her memory. The bench is placed on a knoll by the brook, amidst a myriad of wild flowers and majestic trees.

In addition to the bench, Jan's family and friends have established the "Jan F. & George K. Richards Endowed Fund" through their generous donations to Stratford. The annual interest from this fund will be used to enhance Stratford's environmental education programs for children.

What wonderful gifts! Jan's spirit will always be with us.
